An old man lives in a town that has become submerged in water. As the water level rises, he's forced to build additional levels onto his home with bricks (cubes) in order to stay above water. One day he accidentally drops his favorite pipe into the lower levels of his home, and decides to rent scuba diving equipment in order to go searching for it. As he descends through his sunken home, the old man recalls memories of the past in each room.

For high school student Takao, a summer shower is a source of artistic inspiration… but when he skips school in order to sketch in a rainy garden, Takao finds an even greater muse in Yukino, an older woman who seems adrift in the world. Despite the difference in their ages and lives, they strike up a comfortable relationship that slowly evolves as they randomly meet in the same garden whenever it rains. But with the rainy season coming to a close, Takao wonders if there's enough time left to put his feelings into actions and words.

In a corner of the crowded and busy city, Hodaka meets a young woman named Hina. Due to certain circumstances, Hina and her younger brother live together, but have a cheerful and sturdy life. Hina also has a certain power: the power to stop the rain and clear the sky.

Control Bear [Wonder Garden]

Control Bear is a project with a distinct twist of black humor,
which surpasses the traditional notion of a character and moves into the realms of art.

Through a long period of trial and error in multiple mediums
including typography, collage and illustration,
the artist felt that the best way to share his message
with many people was by using this character as a medium.

By creating an image that is so unexpected and unusual - a cute,
innocent bear taking off his own head - the artist communicates his message:
you control everything, be strong willed and don’t be controlled
by others or just follow what others expect you to do.

While being extremely simple this piece of art holds a strong message.

Kowarekake no Orgel (Movie)

In 2039, helper androids are widespread as general purpose electronics.

Keiichiro lost his family in a traffic accident and retired from his band. One day, he finds an old model android in a garbage dump. He takes her home but after taking her to a repair shop he was told she couldn't be repaired so he planed to throw her away, but the next day he finds her making breakfast for him. Thus begin the summer days of a memoryless android and a dreamless boy.

Kowarekake no Orgel was originally an independent animation released as an OVA. Later on it received a theatrical release that is a bit different and longer than the original.
