An old man lives in a town that has become submerged in water. As the water level rises, he's forced to build additional levels onto his home with bricks (cubes) in order to stay above water. One day he accidentally drops his favorite pipe into the lower levels of his home, and decides to rent scuba diving equipment in order to go searching for it. As he descends through his sunken home, the old man recalls memories of the past in each room.

Despite the difference in their ages and lives, they strike up a comfortable relationship that slowly evolves as they randomly meet in the same garden whenever it rains. But with the rainy season coming to a close, Takao wonders if there's enough time left to put his feelings into actions and words.

Control Bear [Wonder Garden]

Control Bear is a project with a distinct twist of black humor,
which surpasses the traditional notion of a character and moves into the realms of art.

Through a long period of trial and error in multiple mediums
including typography, collage and illustration,
the artist felt that the best way to share his message
with many people was by using this character as a medium.

By creating an image that is so unexpected and unusual - a cute,
innocent bear taking off his own head - the artist communicates his message:
you control everything, be strong willed and don’t be controlled
by others or just follow what others expect you to do.

While being extremely simple this piece of art holds a strong message.

This is not so much a story as it is a slice of life. Or rather, it is a look into portions of the life of a girl named Alpha, together with the people around her. Alpha runs a little cafe on the outskirts of Yokohama. There are almost no customers, but Alpha does not mind at all since she has the occasional company of the old man who runs the gasoline stand down the road, as well as that of his grandson Takahiro. This is a Yokohama of the future, when the sea covers most of the land and roads have disappeared under sand or water. Alpha is in fact a robot, looking after the cafe during her owner's indefinite leave of absence.
