Akai Yuki

A collection of short stories drawn with great delicacy and told with subtle nuance by legendary Japanese artist Susumu Katsumata. The setting is the pre-modern Japanese countryside of the author's youth, a slightly magical world where ancestral traditions hold sway over a people in the full vigor of life, struggling to survive the harsh seasons and the difficult life of manual laborers and farmers. While the world they inhabit has faded into memory and myth, the universal fundamental emotions of the human heart prevail at the center of these tender stories.

Kuma Koroshi Kami Nusumi Tarou no Namida (熊殺し神盗み太郎の涙, The Tears of Bear-Slayer and God-Stealer Tarou)
It's a story about a boy called the "Bear Killer", who meets a girl who has been chosen to become the guardian deity of her village.

The story of a young girl who meets a girl with a mysterious disease while on a trip to the ocean.

Le Pain et le Chat (The bread and the cat)
The story of a baker who decides to care for a girl whose parents have left her.

It's about a man who climbs a mountain that belongs to the gods, and is not made for man to climb.

Mushishi

Ningyo no Mori

On their journey, they meet others who have consumed the flesh of a mermaid in hope of becoming immortal. But the powerful substance affects each person differently. Yuta and Mana are two of the lucky ones. Others are fated to die or transform into a savage monster, a "lost soul."



This is the first volume of the Mermaid Saga series from the original tankoubon release, which includes the two-chapter stories "A Mermaid Never Smiles" (人魚は笑わない, Ningyo wa Warawanai), "The Village of Fighting Fish" (闘魚の里, Tōgyo no Sato), and "Mermaid Forest" (人魚の森, Ningyo no Mori Zenpen).
