Autobiographical tale in which Mizuki narrates the memories of his childhood in the decade of 1930, in Sakaiminato, a small coastal town at the southwest Japan. With nostalgia and tenderness, the mangaka narrates his first years of life within a modest family, the fights with his friends,the school and his first loves. The title character of the book, NonNonBa, is an old mystical and superstitious woman by which Shigeru discovers the world of yokai, supernatural beings and grotesque bestiary of medieval Japanese.

Won Best Album at the 2007 Angoulême International Comics Festival.

Youkai Hunter

A former professor of archaeology, Hieda Reijiro, was expelled from the Japanese Archaeological Association for claiming that youkai exist. Ancient horrors come to life before our eyes as the youkai hunter wanders the land to find proof for his theories.

This is the first serialization of Youkai Hunter with one additional chapter, which were all collected in the first volume in 1978.

Hakaba Kitaro

Kitaro is a yokai boy born in a cemetery, and aside from his mostly-decayed father, the last living member of the Ghost tribe. He is missing his left eye, but his hair usually covers the empty socket. He fights for peace between humans and yokai, which generally involves protecting the former from the wiles of the latter.

Written between 1959-1964, this manga is the original Kitaro story which a few years later, would become the template for the more well-known and popular manga/anime; "Gegege no Kitaro"

Jigoku Sensei Nube

The series follows Meisuke Nueno, better known as Nube, an exorcist who also happens to be the teacher for a 5th grade class at Doumori Elementary. While he uses many various exorcism techniques, his main weapon is the Demon Hand which is the power of a chaotic oni sealed right where his left hand should be. The series follows Nube and Doumori class 5-3 though the many weird, chaotic, and downright silly and insane encounters they face with the many forms and elements of the supernatural.

Nekome Kozou

In 11 stories of revenge and retribution full of disturbing images, Cat Eyed Boy acts as a trickster, saving the innocent and helping the wicked receive the punishment that fate metes out.

Kiitarou Shounen no Youkai Enikki

This is the visual diary of Kiitarou's experience with youkai. He's a boy with a very strong spirit sense, but when he entered a forbidden storehouse, he was kicked out of his home. He soon found a new place to live, where he met a zashiki warashi (house spirit) named Suzu. He and Suzu soon began to attract all kinds of spirit creatures, starting with a nurikabe (appears as a wall that impedes travelers) and mokumokuren (appears as eyes in a torn paper wall). What kind of folkloric creature will he meet next?
